had an awesome holiday!!!
thanks to a star of an AIESEC'er Paul!!
pics will be the next post!!
finally went and saw the madame tussaud's nice but really wayyyyy to expensive!!
Friday!
saw the madame tussauds museum finaaly
then packed up for the weekend and was off!!
reached a quaint suburb of Bristol 1hour and half away from london!
was just awesome!!
ate another dinner and crashed!!
SATURDAY
woke up really early, got all ready and blah went down for breakfast and well met a very interesting pair of twins!!
then the star Paul finally came down and his awesome dad dropped us of to the bridge!
the worlds 1st suspension bridge! very cool i must say!!!
we then ran down the "zig zag lane" its actually called that!!
then to the docks.. really quaint... bristol was an industrial area a while back, so saw a few abandoned buildings but most of it now new and all.. then went across the horn bridge.. its realyy ugly. but still it has a nice cause behind it all!
well yeah then saw the millenuim square.. lots of foutains:D
then took a bus to bath!!
its such a quaint town loved it! but i wldn't live there!! its too quite!
then my host family, the Sims took me for dinner, to this resturant where we had to ring the door bell for them to open the door :D
then froze my way home talking to dave and mark :D
will miss them, they were always awake at breakfast which was coool!!
well sunday i was back in london!
it was a really fast trip but i loved my host family..
things i found were different:
found it tough to use my right hand for cutting and left for eating with the fork,
the lack of various cultures, like london.
i still find eating cereal for breakfast not so great, icldn't do it in bombay, n i can't so it here!
Bath was full of snobby ppl well you the posh, nose in the air kind!!
i actually overheard a convo which involved colouring eyelashes!!!!!!
had a huge laugh!
yeah the baths were well check them out in the picture..
saw a street called gay street!!!
Paul made me walk soooo fast that we actually finished everything an hour earlier than scheduled
that was cool too but it was waaayyy to cold
ooohhh
I saw frost!
and well played my 1st frost ball fight :D:D
tht was cool
but another thing that really hit me was the similarities
yeah on sunday i went camden market with ruchika!!
its big didn't finish the whole thing!
then met rungi-
well thats all for my week end

my monday was sooo fun!!
i decided to do the exact walk given in the eye witness guide for london!!
i found really cool nooks of small shops and stuff
really really cool
can't wait to do another walk!!
pics will be up on the next post

MONDAY 14Th NOVEMBER 2005
OMG the cold!!! I have never froze so much!! Thanks to the warm jacket that I have been given im fine! [which makes me look like a penguin] :D
This blue banana conference was really productive!! Extremely useful for me to understand what the current realities of AIESEC in UK, well at least the south eastern region is like..
Made a whole bunch of really good friends and realized how much I miss my friends…
Esther is this really LSE project co-ordinator who is awesome for AIESEC and has made me realize soooo many things too!!
It feels great to have some one to talk to and complain to :D
Still haven’t got a camera…
Will go and buy one soon.
Got a great invitation to go to Bristol, bath, and stone hendge!! [hope I got the spellings right] so im going outside London this weekend woooohoooo!!!
And then the week after that if Angelene can take me im off to Scotland!!! Another wooohooo!!!
Been doing sooo much! Been asked to be the publicity co-ordinator for India connect [that’s gonna be hard] and also been asked by the MC to join the reception team here…
Still trying to figure what that would be like!

well so I’ve been working a lot and having an equal amount of fun!! Can’t wait to see what India connect works out to be!

My stamina is defiantly going to increase this way, which is a very very good thing cuz I have none left! ☺
Was stupid enough not to lookat the tube map properly thinking only one line went to the station I had to go to… turned out that every train on which ever line that passed through baker street went to liverpoool heheheh
Tube not that hard to understand and its sooooo comfortable, really wish Bombay trains were soo comfy oh ya Bombay shld have the same weather too just not this rainy ☺:P
Oh since im on a roll it shld have fewer ppl and more trees and less garbage and cleaner streets and more organized work schedules and better class rooms, projectors in every class room hmmmm and those coolio button thingies to make the signal turn red so u can go across and umm awesome hats, and the cute dogs, labour dignity, and nice adverts, legal drinking age of 18, ummmmmmm well that’s about it for now.. :D

Saturday, November 05, 2005

woke up real early!
ate a nice nice breakfast!!
and then left with my cousin!!
1st stop the st. paul's cathedral!!
reminded me of the holy name cathedral next to school in bombay!
but they had really nice stuff in there, there was the wispering galleries which is basically the area inside the top of the dome and you can watch the services from there..and then u can go higher to this place called the stone gallery which is 378 steps up and 53 meters from the church floor!! u can c the whole of london from here really fun place took loads of pictures. then went further up to the golden gallery 85 meters from the church floor and 530 steps up, the view was toally unobstructed!! gorgeous! could see the london eye [i don't fancy it much] the shakeperes globe! - love it. and the london bridge! then there was the corporate district everything basically!! awesome pics shld be up soon.
then we trekked back down to the crypt!! thats all that we did at st. pauls!
NEXT
we went over the millenium bridge, got kinda lost, we were going the opposite direction!
the bridge is really cool took more pictures!
walked to tate mordern!! my sister fell asleep waiting for me there :D
its a modern art museum [exhibition hall] didn't really like it.. yeah creative stuff but it cannot be called art!! sorry my opinion! BLAH!!!
then we kinda walked towards shakepere's globe didn't go in.. kept walking until we reached borough market, if u eat meat you will love this place... if u don't it will just puts u off.. but then the deserts!!!! oooooooooooooooooooooooooo can't wait to go back to eat desserts!!!!
then walked back towards the london eye.. saw this really cute place which was like a small market place ate really yummy food.. saw adorable hats!! [i want i want i want]!!! and then well walked towards the tube station to go to regent street...
REGENT street!!
ooooooooooo
walked around a bit... and saw the launch of the cristmas light again!!
this time it was much bigger pictures will be up soon
the blocked off the whole street!
i have never seen a place so crowded before on a saturday atleast..
everybody here gets the whole weekend off so its always saturday and sunday free so the whole of london comes out onto the streets to enjoy the sun if its a good day...
they used glitter confetti instead of fake snow and they even used crakers to launch the whole thing really really wow!!!!
then walked straight in to the Apple store..
finally saw the nano been dying to see it, they let u use wireless there! can't wait to go back and just sit there for hours!!!
its really really hi-fi!!
then finally took the bus back home!!
did alot!!

BUT THEN
I read a mail from Leanne saying she was going for the guy fawks night fire works!!
and well called here and went back to the same place i went to earlier...
angeline and sarah and lucy took me around there we went to the bankside and watched the fire works.. it was even more crowded and the dicplay was awesome!!!!
then we walked right upto the london bridge it looks blue to me in the night.. :D
the story of guy fawks is really funny ask me later..

really awesome stuff
i mean u see these things on TV all the time and now its like in real oil and canvas in front of you!!
really awesome stuff
then went to the national gallery eight next to it didn't really have time to c much ask me later how the milky way originated
and do u remember in the opening credits os desperate housewives there is that scene where a man eat a banana and this wierd lady in green who looks pregnant cleans it up well thats called the giovanni and his wife painting!! its actually a really cool painting and no the woman isn't pregnant thats just how the fashion was back then, women wanted to look rotound!! crazy stuff na!!
considering that now all women want to look stick thin and very very bony!! something that would have never been appreciated during the time those paintings were painted!!

had my expectation setting meeting with Fabian… he's german.. pretty
organized I have to make a time line of my schedule here pretty cool
stuff ain't it!! There is so much I can do here n having all the time
in the world really helps!
Nearly went for a newie conference but not going now cuz there is a
newie who wants to go.. so already been for one, so going again won't
really make sense..
The best part of the meeting was going for a concert!!
At the end of the meeting Fabian took me for a lunchtime concert that
happens in this library called the Shaw library.. this is the old
library so its all old and beautifull Rashna u know what im talking
bout you would have loved this!!
The concert had a duet…
On the cello and the piano..
Thomas carrol on the cello and Anthony Hewitt on the piano awesome stuff!!
They played
1. Debussy sonata (1915)
2. Ligeti Sonata for solo Cello
3. Brahms Cello Sonata in E minor Op.38…
the best for last as usual..
but really brilliant stuff for something in university..

The rosamunde Trio play next week
Can't wait to go for this one too!!

Now I thought I was meeting anantica but she's still in class so made
a really cool plan to go to Trafalgar square now so just leaving….

went to the british museum in the afternoon for a look..
saw the Assyrian exhibit was amazing and was dying to see the europen
exhibit always wanted to see the celtic exhibit that was pretty cool
the women back then wore hair accessories that looked exactly like the
ones that the women in India used to wear..
for some reason they also had hanging vessels n stuff cldn't figure
that out. Didn't see the rossetta stone I found out that it was used
to crack the hieroglyphics. So I'll drop by there again…

after that I had to get stuff ready for the LC meeting!!
Went and bought mithai!! People loved it.. hehe
Then Leanne went back home to get candles..
As I was there it was about India and Diwali.. there are two people
from India in the LC both from Delhi!!
So well then went on with the meeting.. pretty fun not the usual..
Very very short updates, they try to keep them short here..
I am amazed at the fact that all the EB member's weren't here.. but
then again it was only a fresh'ers meeting

Another facinatling thing here are the advert.. they are actually nice
not really crap like the one's back home..

Really fitting in here don't really feel like an outsider.. just miss
the running into random people.. the tubes are sooooooo funn

I met anantica in the evening after the meeting finally met her felt
great!! We just sat in the new library really intimidating one really
big and all and very hi-fi…
Then she gave a tour of the college… took me to this old library
called the Shaw.. amazing stuff
Loved shaw…
They have a lot of pubs everywhere there are some in the college
buildings.. found that mad!!!!
but different culture right!!!

So that's about nov 2nd..

Oh just a random post..
Leanne is such a sweet heart!!! Really awesome people on the EB
Fabian is the LCP got expectation setting with him tomo..
Houriya reminds me of some one but I can't put my finger on who it is…
Yao is VP ICX haven't really talked to him yet..
They work really differently here mostly project that over time boost
exchange I think it's a good idea, guess I'll think about implementing
it back in Bombay!
Met some other people in the LC that's about it..
